It was a few years ago that I found myself in a hotel room for two weeks in Ithaca, New York. It's nice country there, but it was summer, the colleges were empty, and there was nothing to do. Around 2 in the morning, a local access cable show came on, I can't remember the name, all I remember for sure is this trippy video and a gorgeous racket making me reach for my notebook to write down the name of the band - The Flashing Astonishers - and the amazing song:

It reminds me a bit of early shoegazer bands like Ride or a less distorted My Bloody Valentine. It definitely has a 90's rock feel - but I ain't gonna lie, that's a compliment in my book.
